“New” Market Maven

Cynthia Ward, who wrote the long-running (14 years+) Market Maven market-news column for the cancelled writers’ magazine Speculations, is now the publisher of the new, monthly MARKET MAVEN electronic newsletter, which focuses on magazine and publisher guidelines and updates from the professional and semi-professional markets in the speculative fiction genres (science fiction, fantasy, horror, paranormal romance, cross-genre, etc).

Subscriptions are $20/year.

If interested, you can learn more about the magazine (including subscription details) at Speculations (http://www.speculations.com).

THE MARKET MAVEN #1 was e-mailed to subscribers on Monday, April 8, 2008. However, many e-mails have bounced. Subscribers should check their e-mail and, if they have not received their MM #1, they should contact publisher Cynthia Ward at market.maven.subscriptions(at)gmail.com.

Why should YOU subscribe? Because Cindy stays on top of things! She always has with just being a part of Speculations. Now she’ll be offering the same (and better!) up-to-date, accurate info on her own. Here’s a couple of markets *I* would never have heard of that she has in this first issue: MAKE/SHIFT (pays 2 cents/word + two copies), a literary magazine with a feminism theme, and NEWWITCH, dedicated to Witches, Wiccans, Neo-Pagans, and various other earth-based, ethnic, pre-Christian, shamanic, and magical practitioners.
