In a job like this, one mistake can cost you everything.
As a Shadowchaser, Kira Solomon has been trained to serve the Light, dispatch
the Fallen, and prevent the spread of chaos. It's a deadly job, and Kira knows
the horror of spilling innocent blood. But now she has a new role, as the Hand
of Ma'at, the Egyptian Goddess of Truth and Order, and an assignment that might
just redeem her.
A fellow Shadowchaser has gone missing, and so has a unique artifact imbued with
astonishing magic. Unless the Vessel of Nun is returned, it will cause
destruction beyond anything the modern world has seen. Kira's got a team at her
back, including Khefar, a near-immortal Nubian warrior who's already died for
her once. But as complicated as her feelings for him are, they're nothing
compared to the difficulties of the task she faces. And the only way to defeat
the enemy at hand is to trust in a power she can barely control, and put her
life--and her soul--on the line.

Reviews of Shadow Blade (Book One)
"Glass' latest seizes the reader's attention and holds it captive.
The author cunningly and masterfully injects details about gods who
supervise and/or orchestrate what happens in the lives of humans,
immortals and beings in between. The suspense is almost overwhelming,
the intense action palpable. Glass creates a story you'll want to keep
reading, even when there are no more pages."--RT Book Reviews

(Starred Review)
"Filled with great spins, the first Shadowchasers urban fantasy is a terrific
tale due to the heroine. Her current case is personal in several ways, but
also could lead her into the Shadows of darkness.
Atlanta proves a great landscape for a battle between shadow and
shadow-hunters, but it is the teaming of Kira and Khefar as she learns
there are plenty of shades of gray between light and dark." --
Alternative Worlds
"FIVE STARS! I found this story to be not only extremely creative, but
down-right astounding!
It sinks its hooks into your imagination and takes you on one of the wildest
rides of the year.
There is so much going on that I simply cannot put it into a short synopsis. All
I can say is, "WOW!"--Huntress
Reviews
"Seressia Glass turns her considerable talents to urban fantasy with this
compulsively readable tale.
The use of an Egyptian pantheon--Kira is a follower of Ma'at, Khefar a follower
of Isis--gives the story
a firm foundation, and the plot, with danger and darkness, but also a hint of
romance, should surely satisfy.
Bring on more of these characters."--
Affaire de Coeur
"Kira's personal history and the burdening effects of her gift were fascinating.
Everything she touches effects her. Even food that she doesn't harvest herself
can make her physically ill because of all the people who have touched it. Also
the inclusion of the Egyptian pantheon of gods was a fresh and unique source of
magic in the urban fantasy genre. The concept of Light and Chaos, and the
Universe's need for balance made for an interesting world to play in....Overall,
the concept and unique world building are the clear strengths of this novel." --All Things Urban Fantasy:
"With Shadow Blade, Seressia Glass, a Romantic Times Reviewer's
Choice Award winner, has written an urban fantasy tale with all the elements
that I like in a good story: magic, deception, redemption, romance and victory
-- a solid formula for a very entertaining read. I'm certainly looking forward
to the next installment in the adventures of Kira and Khefar."--

About the Author
Seressia Glass has always been a voracious reader, cutting her teeth on
comics, cereal boxes--anything at hand. So it came as no surprise to family and
teachers when she began creating stories featuring some of her favorite
characters. One of her earlier works included the autobiography of a piece of
bubble gum, and a short Halloween story was turned into a PTA play in elementary
school.
Her proudest writing moment remains winning the first Martin Luther King, Jr.
holiday "Living the Dream" essay contest as a high school senior and getting to
meet Coretta Scott King. Since then, she's channeled her belief in the power of
the written word by creating rich, emotional stories of diverse people coming
together to achieve the universal goals of love and acceptance.
When not working on her next story, Seressia is an instructional designer for an
international home improvement company. She spends her free time
people-watching, belly dancing, and watching way too much anime.
